こんにちは

先日テネシー州BristolにあるThe Birthplace of Country Musicというミュージアムを訪問しました。

その際に心に残った曲を今回はご紹介します。

邦題は「永遠の絆」

ミュージアムの最後のセクションに現代にも引き継がれるカントリーミュージックの魂という形で映像がこの曲をBGMに流れていました。

感無量です。

このBristolという街、メインストリートの片側がバージニア州、もう片側がテネシー州という

州にまたがっている街としても有名です。

今回はJohnny Cashとその親族が歌った動画をメインであげましたが

原曲はThe Carter FamilyのCan the circle be unbrokenという曲とのこと(下動画参照)

(動画のタイトルから見ると、1935年の歌だそう…)

The Carter Familyのギタリストはメイベル・カーターをいう方で

歌詞中に出てくる名前と一緒、何か関連が…？

ゆったりとした曲調で、とても聞き流しやすい

ミュージアムからの帰りの車中は、半分くらいこの曲を聞いてました。

もう半分はまた次回に…
